Wrap a stitch?

What does it mean to “wrap a stitch”…it’s listed as part of my pattern.:knitting:

Wrapping is usually associated with short rows. There is a video here in KH at the bottom of this page.

It helps when you ask questions if you tell us what you’re making and give us a pattern link if at all possible.

Thanks, Jan. I think this will be very helpful - I don’t have sound where I am right now, but I should be able to follow it when I do. I’m making a newsboy cap, and the wrapping happens when I get to the brim. The instructions for the row are "K to 2nd marker, wrap next st, turn, (leave unworked sts on the needle). I had everything figured out but the wrap.

I’ll be more specific next time I post - can you tell I’m new to the forum?

There’s a tutorial with some pictures for wrapping and short rows at knitty that may also help.

I like this short row tutorial on sock heels. It makes for no seaming afterward. http://www.cosmicpluto.com/blog/as-promised-a-short-row-heel-tutorial/
