Woven Basket Stitch - Help!

I am working on the Make Tracks Cardigan by Valley Yarns. In this sweater pattern there are panels of woven basket stitch: “(RS): Pass right hand needle behind the first stitch k second st, k first stitch in the usual way. (WS): p the second stitch, p first stitch.”

I’m fine with the WS instructions. On the RS, I believe I knit the back of the 2nd stitch and then do I knit the back of the 1st stitch or do I knit the front of the first stitch (like a normal knit stitch).

Thanks ahead for the help!

I have not done this sweater, and or stitch, but from what you say, I understand it to mean you knit into the back loop of the second stitch and then into the first stitch in the normal position since it says, ‘in the usual way’. The normal or usual would be in the front.

Thanks Merigold … I’ll try it!
