Thought I’d show a little taster of some patterns I’m working on. I’m using 1.5 mm needles and 2 ply lace yarn (Jamieson & Smith, mostly), with bent wire/stuffing in the legs/open mouth version of the head - the open mouth is easy to omit though. I didn’t have any legs ready for this one but they’re in progress.
I’m aiming more at the dollhouse/people who would want to make pet portraits for themselves or friends type markets rather than children, due to the wires and wanting to make them as realistic as possible.
All that aside, is this something you’d want to click on if you saw it in a pattern listing like on Ravelry? Ignore the shoes and dog toys in the background, though!

That’s an adorable horse. It’ll make a horse lover out of everyone.
Very nicely figured out.
Thank you! Do you think it looks ‘fine’ enough to appeal to knitters who do 12th scale items? I know some people add stables to their houses or collections.
You’re probably the best judge of size but the gauge looks fine. Details are clear and in proportion.
Thanks a lot, I was starting to second guess myself ![]()
I like your horse and my granddaughter who is in college would love it! One nice thing about a pattern like this is that if someone wants it larger they just need to use heavier yarn and appropriate needles. I’ve made cat patterns up using fingering to bulky and they were all great. I can’t say I’m a horse lover but I do appreciate well done knitted sculpture.
Thank you very much
Im so happy other knitters like them!
Yes, I would knit your pattern. Love it!
