I am looking for a worsted weight sock yarn. Ideally it would be mostly wool with some nylon. My husband works outside year round with huge boots, so I want to make him some wooly socks.
I just made a pair of socks, used Encore from Plymouth Yarn. It is a worsted weight 75% acrylic 25% wool. Made the socks for my sweetie, who works outside year round in big boots! He really liked them.
You can use any superwash worsted weight. I use Cascade 220 Superwash for my SIL’s ski socks.
I’ve used Lion Brand Wooleaze for most of my socks.
I thank you for all your suggestions.
I had already thought of the encore, but was worried about all the acrylic that his feet would sweat and start to stink :ick: I might have to try the superwash I even have some knitpicks swish lying around here.
I’m making socks for myself out of KP Swish in Ballerina. I think it will be fine for socks. I also plan on making some for my sister in Wisteria and using a slip stitch heel for durability.
This is the yarn I’ve used for my socks too.
