This is a shameless plea for encouragement to continue on with these socks. This is actually my second time knitting them. First time I got to casting off the cuff and just didn’t like them so frogged them. The hubs feet are big, I don’t like the striping of the yarn, boring guy pattern…need I go on. The hubby loves them b/c it is Virginia Tech colors and the yarn was made/purchased in Blacksburg.
Those are really looking fine. You can do it! Just think about how pleased he’ll be. I do understand about guy colors, etc. I just finished a pair for my son, his feet are 12 1/2 E and the finished pair weighs in at 85 gr. Don’t you dare wuss out now! The light at the end of the tunnel is not an oncoming train. Get them done and move on to something more exciting.
finish them! if only to be an inspiration for me and my big feet. lol… btw, what’s the pattern called? - i really like it!
They look fantastic! Your husband’s school colors, what better choice is there? This is the time to show those socks who’s the boss and finish them off.
(Then treat yourself to some pretty yarn in colors that you love.)
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: You go, knit those socks :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
But more seriously: I like the pattern AND I like the colours. Not sure why these are boring or especially male socks… Tastes differ
Just think about the smile on your husbands face when they’re ready, that should get you through  Good luck!
I found the pattern searching on Ravelry - it is Guitar Man
Thank you for all the encouragement. I have to have them done before the first football game so guess I better get back to knitting.
to paraphrase, ‘damnit, janet!’… guitar man? now i HAVE to make them, but for my uncle who’s an actual musician. and tall with big feet, so i know that pattern will work. adding another to the list…
I forget who suggested it, but I just downloaded the Kiss Fish Lips pattern to attempt a simpler heel. I figure this is a good pair to experiment with b/c I doubt the hubby will wear these anywhere other than around the house on game days.
They look great and the pattern is awesome
Love the color and everything about the socks, so carry on. I hope it’s better the 2nd time around.
