Well, your colors are quite lovely, but I understand that the finished, un-felted product is the size of a small canoe. So, I can understand why you feel the way you do! Good luck finishing it! Perhaps a small, easy-to-finish project about now will give you the break you need. 
I also have the French Market bag on the needles. I started around Easter and then lost interest. I knit a round last week for the first time since last spring. I only did it because I was procrasting with my closet cleaning.

Find a small project to do in between. It will re-invigorate you. I used to be a strictly monogamous knitter. But now I always keep a spare project OTN!
wise advice indeed: starting a small project until the bag is interesting again. i tried that a week ago, and it was going well until my german shepherd ate it! (the needles included!) so i’ll just take my time with it. i mean, it probably needs about 2 solid hours, and that’s it! but, still…
amber – i’m using all of my leftover wool – a bit of manos and peace fleece.

It looks great! I have it on the needles too and it is very slow going. My color is almost identical to your taupe color. Great choice!
My plan is to rent a really long movie, and hopefully get a lot accomplished.
