WIP: Awesome Super Mario Bros blanket (Picture)

I’m making this super cool blanket that is my design of a classic NES Super Mario Bros. scene

I’m almost done! I have photos of the journey along the way on my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nerdynintendoknitter/

I also have a wordpress blog, where I post updates, fun things I find, and future projects: http://thenerdynintendoknitter.wordpress.com/

What do you think?

Incredible! That is fantastic!

Thank you  I’ve been working on it for over a year.
I’m so glad that I’m almost done!

Wow! That’s amazing work! Very cool! Is it for you or for a gift?

Very impressive!!

Beautiful work! Everything is so detailed and you found perfect colors for the blanket.

I think it’s fantastic! It makes me smile.

Great work on this mammoth project and kudos to you for your willingness to stick with it.

Amazing! Great job on all that detail!! Looks just like the game!

Oh… my… word! AMAZING!!! It reminds me of this sweater pattern on Ravelry that my boyfriend begged me to knit for him. I don’t even want to show him this picture of your blanket because he will beg me again! But there is no way in H-E double hockey sticks that I can do something like that! Never!

WOW!

Wow, thanks everybody

You’re right: it did take a lot of persistence to keep at this. There were many occasions when I wanted to set it on fire, haha.

I’m actually making this for my brother. He’s really into all gaming, including old school gaming. He is also considering having an art gallery in Louisville that’s strictly old school gaming art and he thought knitting would be a new and cool medium.

I’m so excited about it now that only have 10 rows left! That’s amazing, considering that there are probably 300 rows on it. Seriously, it’s huge. I think 5 feet wide and 4 feet tall.

My two grandsons would be nuts over this. It is spectacular. VERY VERY well done!!!:muah:

Awesome! and really cool. Congratulations on sticking with it - I too know that feeling of wanting to set a project on fire. But you didn’t - good for you! Great job, nice knitting.

Wow, that’s an impressive piece of knitting. If you don’t mind me asking, what program did you use for making a chart?

I used Adobe Photoshop.

That is simply amazing! :yay:

So it might go on display as the work of art it is? Good.
