Hi!
I’m making a bag that will be felted and the pattern calls for st stitch throughout. Would it matter if I did garter instead? Is there a benefit to st stitch in this case? Hate the rolling while I’m working! Thanks,
Julie

Many bags are worked in the round so it faster for many people to knit all the rounds rather than purl the alternate rounds.
Thanks so much for your quick reply. I’ll just knit the whole thing.

Garter stitch felts thicker. If the pattern calls for stockinette and you use garter, it may change the size of your project from what is intended.
Thank you Mary! Since the stitches “melt” together, I wondered why it would matter and now I know.
