why is that?
i would think that shorter points would make it easier to knit a stitch at the right tension (so that you don’t have to push the needle so far in).
do i make sense?

it took a while for me to get used to the Denise needles with their long points because i was used to shorter ones. i really prefer them now because they do go down to a pointier point…easier to get into the work, especially small work, than with blunt needles.
I have a circular needle with sorta blunt tips. They’re nice to use for stockinette or patterns that don’t require require increasing or decreasing. But when you have to insert the tip to manuever around, it’s much harder to do. The stitch or the yarns tends to slip off. Most of my needles have nice long tapered tips and I never appreciated them until I started working with this one.

I do a lot of lace knitting and I find long pointy tips good for doing lace stitches. The other type of knitting where it comes in handy is sock knitting. With really small stitches you really don’t want to minimize the chance of dropping them. I agree with Sue, if you are just doing stockinette it is not as crucial.
When i knit with 00 or 0000 needles i WISH they came with pointy tips instead of blunt ones
those TEENY TINY needles don’t come pointy, so it mangles my Thread badly
or am i doing something wrong?

Sounds like you need the Knitpicks needles, rather than you doing anything wrong.
