Which needles work better

:?? can anyone tell me what is better to knit with plastic, wood or metal needles. i need a pair of 19 us neddles and they are hard to find here . so i went on ebay and they have plastic and wood what do you think :??

Oh boy… that is a loaded question. :teehee: Everyone has their own favorites so you should probably think about what you like to knit with in regular size needles.

If I’m going to knit with straights I personally prefer wood, but it does depend somewhat on the yarn.

:?? i’am wanting to knit with super bulky yarn

If your yarn is slippery-smooth, you’ll want to use wooden needles so your stitches don’t jump off the needles. If you’re using a wool or other not-so-slick yarn, plastic or aluminum will work fine.

 thank you for your help

I would prefer wood also. Some people cannot bear to knit with plastic needles and I happen to be one of them.

at size 19, those can get pretty heavy. i prefer my plastic needles just because they’re much lighter than wood.
