Where to place marker...so confused

Hello all!

Maybe this is easier then I am making it out to be. I tend to read way to much into things.

Here’s what the pattern reads…

K1 Sl1 psso. K35 Sl1 K1 psso. K2tog. Place marker between last 2 sts. K35 K2tog. K1.

Now, when it says place marker between last 2 stitches does mean between the K1 and K2tog after you have psso? Or does it go after the K2tog and before K35? Or am I totally wrong all together?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would say it gets placed between the skp (slip one, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over) and the k2tog. why they don’t just say skp, place marker, k2tog, I don’t know.
