October was a banner month for projects: wonderful socks, sweaters, hats and shawls. Let’s see what November brings. We’d love to see your finished projects and what’s on the needles or hooks. Are the thoughts for future projects becoming reality? It’s inspiring to see any and all.
Im currently trying to neaten up the colourwork on the front of my little girls Christmas jumper. No matter how hard I try I cant avoid the puckering but hopefully blocking will smooth some of it out.
Beautiful design! It may help to stretch out the sts on the right hand needle before you change colors or catch a float. That will force the carried color to span the stretched out sts and soften the puckering.
Thank you, I thought I was doing that but clearly not enough. Will try a bit more next colour project. X
I like your jumper. It will probably look less puckered after a wash when the yarn relaxes. You might consider using intarsia for a project that has a very long gap between motifs, it’s one way of reducing the amount of float catching behind the work.
Just off my needles is the back of my sweater from October. I have a lot of ends to weave in and one more sleeve to make, then rib, seam, neck, so quite a way off yet.
Thinking about my next project whilst I weave in ends.
Started another pony - one for us to display as a Christmas decoration. I’m thinking of making a Krampus pony for a friend, too.
I’m getting back to a vest I started in July. It’s Bartles n Jaymes by BabyCocktails. All of the yarn was in my stash…score!
Excellent is so many ways!
I like those colours together!
I bought the yarn in a kit for another project and stored it for a few years, long enough to not like the pattern anymore. At least I found a use for the yarn.
Isn’t it funny how that happens? You’re putting the yarn to good use.
This pattern is so lovely I went to look it up but got lost down a worm hole of patterns! The yarn looks perfect, such a great start.
Nice pattern
I am almost finished a baby blanket. The pattern is called Tippy Toes. Very easy and nice texture . I used Loops and Threads Heathered Bamboo yarn in bolder neutral colors.
That looks very good! I love the stitch pattern!
Thanks for the encouraging words on a project that will take a while for me to complete.
Almost finished with a baby cardigan (Designs by Tracy D). Just starting the dreaded button bands then need to seam sleeves and sides. I really have so much trouble with those button bands!!! Any advice would be welcomed. Not sure why the shoulders look a little off!
Also just finished fingerless mittens for my grandsons.
Happy knitting everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!
Gorgeous!
