Mostly the trick is thinner yarn. A lot of crochet looks clunky because the stitches are thicker than knit stitches, so using lighter-weight yarns helps offset that.

Thank you. I was not aware of that. I plan to just knit the rounds with no increases. I’m making size 2 and it is 48 cm across which is exactly like an existing sweater which fits well. I also plan on making it about 2 “ longer.
