For most of us this is the summer of the heat dome. Maybe not ideal for knitting or crocheting afghans or sweaters but perfect for small projects like socks and hats.
What’s on your needles or hooks? Have you plunged into sweaters and blankets regardless of the temperatures? And what plans are in mind?

We had a heat wave last week, I couldn’t bare the winter sweater I was working on to be anywhere near me!
I started a cotton/linen (in Drops Belle) pattern which was nice and light to work on. It helps having lighter yarn and knitting in pieces rather than all in one helps too.

I’ve made some changes, reverse stockinette main body with a bit of rib detail at the side seams and making it without the button band. I’m hoping to join the front centres with a seam and a zip …if i can make it work. I wanted an opening zip but i saw some unusual 2 colour zips and had to buy them, they don’t open so it will have to be a pullover rather than cardigan. I will probaly make a different style pocket and add some surface crochet colour too.

Wild Herring Mitt. It was slow and tedious but I’m happy with the results. I’m going to knit some Christmas gifts before knitting the second mitt. I need a rest from it.

I’ve been improvising a baguette quiver… Not my first attempt! It started when my aunt gave me a yellow yarn that she didn’t use for me to learn some knitting on, and I tried to think of something to make with it and since it was itchy wool I knew I wouldn’t knit something wearable, so eventually I thought I’d like a baguette quiver, to bring it home comfortably from the bakery. I knitted something interesting but didn’t have nearly as much yarn as I’d need for it, and I ended up with just a basket And eventually I gave it a crochet try and it’s been working out! I also saw some bottle holder tutorials where the bottom transforms into a pouch to store the bag, so I’ve been making something similar, just bread sized! I did an image search for meshes to find one I like, and now the plan is to crochet a shoulder strap, some pouch closing loops on the pouch side, and to embroider wheat on the outside of the pouch so it looks pretty once it’s folded in

The mitt turned out to be much longer since I went up a size on each suggested needle. My first try was too small.

The teeny sweater is so cute! 
You can make that bag into pocket bag. Crochet second circle same as begining of bag. Turn bag inside-out. With the wrong side facing you, sew circle 2 onto bottom of circle 1, leaving an opening approximately 4” wide at the top. Attach yarn on the pocket where the pocket and base circle meet.
Along the pocket opening, sc to the center of the opening, ch 10 (or # needed to fit around button), sc to the other side of the opening.
Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc to ch-10 space, 10 sc in ch-10 space, sc in each rem sc.
Finish off and weave in ends.
Tuck entire bag inside the pocket.
Attach button to circle 1 where loop will reach the button.
Close bag with ch-10 loop and button.
Just a suggestion

Already did! That’s what I meant by pouch, I started with 2 circles with raised edges that I attached together, then built the mesh on that

After making a whole bunch of Step by Step sweaters by Florence and a Sabai top I am branching out into a Field Sweater.
The pattern is very complex but the basic shape of the sweater is the same give or take some raglan shaping as the sweaters I’ve already made and the pattern is only at the top third of the thing. I have just finished the neck ribbing and I’m about to add a lifeline. No doubt the first of many. Cross your fingers for me…
