What is this stitch?

Sorry for the photo quality… screenshot plus phone isn’t the best.
I know how to do it, but would like to know what it’s called!

It’s a sort of Diamond Brocade, but the lines are broken up.

This one looks like it, Sand Cable Stitch
I will keep looking

Here’s another photo, though not a while lot clearer.

There are definitely breaks where the lines cross each other. Like this, but with incomplete lines.

Trellis stitch? Although there seems to be a lot of different trellis stitch styles/paterns.
Have you trying typing in the instruction into a search to see what comes up?

It may be a variation of the shadow cable.

Barbara Walker included something similar in her Treasury of Knitting Patterns.

No, the lines are only one stitch wide, which you can’t tell from those bad pics of the screen. It really looks most like Diamond Brocade, except the lines aren’t continuous and make it look like it’s woven. It looks kind of like that textured steel flooring:

Have you seen this trellis stitch?

Are the stitches passed over the other stitch to make the bumps or is it a purl bump?

What about this, scroll down to see a flat picture

I have to say it looks like a double bed machine tuck stitch. Especially because of the breaks. I guess you could do it by hand, but it would be fiddly.

Well, I haven’t actually DONE it yet, but I can post it when I’m absolutely sure I’ve got it right.

Not passing over, only purl bumps. I think it’s a variant of Diamond Brocade (the pink photo), with some purl bumps left out so the lines don’t touch where they cross.

OK , here’s mine. Hopefully someone knows the name of the stitch pattern, now that it’s not a blurry pic from a computer screen!

You are right. It is Diamond Brocade or a variation. 400 Stitches by Potter Craft.

Yes, basically that, with a few purls left out.

No idea of the name, sorry, but I did find this lovely pattern which is similar to the steel flooring pic you posted, nice effect

Maybe it’s just called broken diamond brocade??

That’s what I’m planning, unless somebody finds another. I like the Broken B, though–might have to use that as well!
