Here’s how to do whip stitch - it’s for sewing 2 pieces of fabric togther.
But if you’re pulling the end of the yarn thru the live stitches, that usually pulls up tight to a circle and closes up at the center. I don’t see why you’d need to whip stitch it closed. Maybe they just mean to weave the yarn thru to make it secure.
