I am working on embroidering details onto a knitting project. I am to embroider using a running stitch. What is a running stitch?
To make a running stitch, start with a double-back stitch…insert needle into fabric and take a small stitch forward. Carry the needle back to the first insertion point. Reinsert the needle, and repeat the stitch 2 or 3 times until the thread is firmly held in the fabric. Then to make the running stitch, reinsert your needle again, take 2 or 3 tiny even stitches, pull thread though, and repeat. Your stitches should be as small as the thickness of the fabric will allow. Then, finish with a double back stitch. It’ll look like a straight line of small stitches, basically
