What happens...?

Hi everyone,

I am VERY new to knitting and left-handed too!
but I am learning it right anyway…
OK so I have learned the double cast-on according to the video, it automatically gives you a knit row attached, so now I am ready for my purl row…but I have no idea how to start new yarn onto my double cast-on.

Please help!!!

If you mean long-tail cast on, which I think you are referring to, just put the needle with the cast-on stitches into your left hand, the empty needle into your right hand, and start knitting. Your yarn is already there. Just make sure that you knit with the yarn attached to the ball, and not the tail. Does that answer your question, or didn’t I understand it?

Yes I did it, I did it!

I have the knit & purl stich from the videos down…I have several rows going, one hole and some tight… but this is my absolute first time so I am excited!

Thank you!

Good for you. It’s great that you’re not obsessing about perfection. Don’t! Just keep knitting away. If you can, save this piece of work and look at it a few months from now. You’ll be amazed at your progress.
