What does "turn" mean in these instructions?

:?? I’m confused by the KnitPicks Andean Chullo Hat instructions. Because I’m still a novice, I read the instructions before starting. The instructions start out by knitting two ear flaps. Now is the section that starts the hat and my confusion
"With color A…CO 16 stitches. Turn work. Pick up Right Earflap and hold it with RS facing. Holding the CO sts in your right hand, continue the row by knitting across earflap. Turn work and CO 64 stitches."
Here’s my confusion…If I turn the work after CO 16 stitches, aren’t the CO stitches in my LEFT hand instead of my right? There must be a different meaning to “turn work”. Can you help?

Thank you!

I’d ignore the turn for the beginning CO, because you’re right. But after you’ve knit across the earflap, you would ‘turn’ to put the right needle into your left hand to CO the next set of stitches. There may be errata for the pattern that addresses this.

Thank you Suzeeq!
