I know I am the slowest knitter in the world but I’ve eventually progressed with my pencil case (after the severe casting on trauma) to a point in the pattern where it says ‘turn and cast on 20 stitches’.
It started with 5 stitches, worked in alternate rows of knit and purl with every so often making an extra stitch at either end until it was 21 stitches wide, or is that long? It’s a nice looking triangle at the moment anyway. Then it says ‘turn and cast on 20 stitches’, does that mean you twist the bit you’ve already knitted but leave it on the same needle? I tried this but got into a muddle and had to unpick and start over (thank goodness it’s such a small piece).
I’ve tried searching for “turn and cast on” both here and via Google but they seem to be more advanced variations on this problem, I just don’t understand the basic terminology. Sorry if I’m being a pain.
