Wet ply the wool yarn? What do you think?

I took some yarn and the way I finished it, was I dipped the single into water making it wet. I then did my ply work on the wet single. After this I set the finished skein out in front of a high velocity fan to dry.

Do you think this is good way to finish a hand-spun yarn? The yarn bloomed from 8.4WPI into 7WPI. The diameter of the single was 1.5mm.

I tried to dye a ply bracelet and this did not turn out well. The dye did not get the whole yarn and then it would not stop tangles. I ended up cutting it free and trashing it.
