I was just wondering if there was a “normal”? Do you usually weave them in while you are working or when the whole piece is done? I’m working on a blanket and getting really annoyed with all the extra strings hanging around and just wondering what you all did!

It’s what you want to do. If they bother you, weave them in now. The knitting police won’t be around to check up on you.
The only one I weave in is at the end… I knit the end in when I’m moving to a new skien or new color, then you can just cut them
About half-way or three-quarters of the way through an item, I weave in all ends up to that point. Dealing with ends is my least favorite part of handmades, so I try to not leave myself a big, icky task at the finish of the project. (Just a smaller, still icky task…
