Those sound so good - can’t go wrong with Alton Brown, can you?
I haven’t made any of the regular RK bars in years, and won’t eat the premade ones. They taste processed. I could eat my weight in Cocoa Pebbles, but they don’t make good krispy bars.

I was just yesterday looking at PETA’s shop site, and they sell vegetarian marshmallows - they’re also here (do a search at the top of the page)!
I ended up having to use regular store-brand puffed rice the one time I made the bars (yay Alton - another winner from 1962 :teehee: !), because I couldn’t find puffed brown rice anywhere locally at the time. But they really were good.
There’s just something about them…when I make them they’re gone within a few hours.
Yeah, that’s my problem too. I adore RK treats. Storebought, homemade…I don’t care. I inhale them so fast my husband says his ears pop when I eat them.
Sigh. I never met a carbohydrate I didn’t like. And I have the thighs to prove it.

I’m drooling all over my keyboard. I’m going to have to see if I have any Rice Crispies in the house. I know positively that I have marshmallows and margarine. YUM!
