This sweater has it all. I love the colors, the colorwork and the very cleverly worked hoodie. Well done!

Thanks I enjoyed knitting this one perhaps not the hood part so much. Am thinking perhaps not suitable for my age  but who cares I’m only 17 in my head!

Sue, what a lovely sweater :+1: is the design knitted or done in duplicate stitch?? Specially the little stars or single stitches throughout the sweater. Would appreciate your telling me how is that done. Because I am doing a pair of mittens that has scatter designs and don’t know how to do thar:frowning:

All knitted haven’t mastered duplicate stitch yet  it’s just a knit stitch thought I’d add it round yoke to break the black up, can’t help it I have to interfere with patterns lol

It’s stranded knitting. You carry the color for the single stitches behind the main color until you want that single stitch, then pick that up just for the one stitch. The strands in back are referred to as “floats”, and you want to catch them every 3 or 4 stitches so they don’t get too long. The floats need to be fairly loose so as not to pull the fabric tight and cause a pucker. You catch them by twisting the 2 yarns together.

You might look up some videos on stranded knitting. There’s a lot to consider–should you hold both yarns in one hand, or one in each hand? And it can affect the outcome if you pick up the new color under or over the one you’ve been working.

Roxanne Richardson always does a thorough job of explaining techniques:
