Hi. I am new to the site, but for the reviews I am excited to join.
I am making a shrug for my toddler granddaughter. The instructions for the armhole are very confusing.
I am an intermediate knitter and have never seen this instruction.
After picking up 42 stitches around the armhole the instructions are:
With RS facing knit to end of row, w&t with next stitch on adj ndl.
Row 1: purl to end, p2 from adjacent ndl, w&t. 12 stitches.
Row 2: knit to end, k2 from adjacent ndl, w&t 14 stitches.
My question is how do you w&t 12 stitches in a row???
The stitch count there is the number of stitches remaining, or number of stitches between wraps, not the number of stitches you need to wrap and turn in succession.
I can’t totally envisage the needle and stitch set up you have here but it sounds like short rows of a sleeve cap.
If you’re able to continue knowing that it’s a stitch count rather than a whole series of w&ts then great.
If not though, someone else will be able to help more with this.
The name of the pattern and designer would really help too if you can let us know these or a link to where the pattern can be found/purchased.
I haven’t read any reviews for this forum but i arrived a few years back to ask one question and never left. I find it well managed, friendly and very helpful.
Thank you so much. What you are suggesting makes perfect sense. I will try and let you know if that is the answer. The pattern is Ring Around the Rosie Shrug by Fabuknits. I wrote to the designer as well but have not heard back yet. I bought the pattern on Ravelry.

Hello. I did hear back from the designer who explained the building of the sleeve exactly how you explained it. She even sent me a video so that I can see how it is done. Thank you again!
That’s great news that you heard back from the designer, and even better to have a video tutorial too.
Glad to hear you get move on wih the project. It’s such a cute shrug.
If you have any more questions as you move on don’t hesitate to ask again.
I hope well see a pic when you’re finished.
