My sister-in-law and I are going to knit the World Afghan in Vogue (2001?) by Kay Niederlitz.
I have the following portion of the pattern that I’m confused about and was wondering if someone could help
I follow along fine through the P3. What I don’t understand are the increases afterward. Is the pattern saying increase each side on rows 4 and 6. Then increase each side rows 8. Then increase each side on rows 10, 12, 14, 16, etc.? Basically increasing every other row (ie RS)?
Increase 2 in the first stitch so you have 3. Then just purl them on Row 2, the WS row. On rows 3, 5, 7 and so on, increase at the beginiing and end of every RS row.
Boy, this is certainly not very clear. Here’s what I get, but it very well may be wrong: Increase on rows 4 and 6 (every other row starting from row 2); then increase on row 7 (the very weird “every row once” directive); and then increase on rows 9, 11, 13, etc. etc. for 15 rows.
Actually I misread it and missed the every row once part, but it looks like Antares still came up with the same thing I did. Because to me that would be inc on rows 3 and 5, then row 6, then 8, 10, 12, but that puts the incs on the WS at that point. And the ‘every row once’ may be a typo, so just do the incs on the RS rows and it should be okay. Maybe. If the rest of the pattern isn’t this weird.
