I need help with 2 sets of instructions for this pattern. For 1 decrease it says bind off 5 stitches at each end of row. Does this mean bind off 5 stitches at the beginning of row 1 and then 5 stitches at the beginning of row 2? If I bind off at the end of the row, the yarn is left out on the end of the decreases. The next question also deals with decreases. It says decreases 1 stitch each end every other row. Do I decrease at the beginning of row 1 and beginning of row 2, then complete row 2 as the in between row or knit another whole row without a decrease? That would give me 3 rows instead of 2 for each decrease.
Thank you for any and all help:muah:
Yes, you can’t BO at the end of the row (it maybe says each ‘edge’?) so you have to BO 5 at the beg of the next 2 rows. For the decs you can do that at the beg and end of a row, and it’s easier to do it on a RS row. So…
R 1 (rs) - BO 5, work across.
R2 (ws) - BO 5, work across
R 3 (rs) - dec, work across, dec.
R 4 (ws) - work across
R 5 - same as row 3
