I need a cute fast easy afghan pattern, I want to make my sister an afghan for christmas but I don’t have a lot of time to do it, I have so many knitting projects to complete plus I am in the middle of a remodel on my house if someone knows of a fast afghan I can knit let me know, I am thinking the colors are going to be greens and yellow for the afghan.
I’ve had this one on my to-do list. I would knit it in one piece rather than the sections recommended in the pattern but you could do either.
Good luck with the home remodel!
If I wanted to do it in one piece, and wanted 4 panels total, would I cast on 192 sts. 48x4x2?? As you can see, I stink at math LOL!
thank you all that looks fun and I have a brand new cable needle that I have been dying to try
Here’s another-
I like that one two but that is a solid one color and I am planning on using several colors
Ooh, Jan, I like the light look of that pattern.
Flyboy, you could always work the pattern in stripes (either lengthwise or widthwise).
Needle size 50!? I’ve never seen size 50! That’s a lovely pattern.
I know! Must be like knitting with bats!!
Or telephone poles, LOL!
I’ve got a pair of size 50 circular needles and they’re GREAT to work with!!! I’ve used them to knit afghans with 4 strands of Lion Brand Homespun together and it goes by super fast!
The diameter is the same as when I put the tips of my thumb and middle finger together, so they’re really thick. Just not as thick as a bat or telephone pole, but almost!

What brand are they and where did you buy them? I’ve not looked yet to see if WEBS has them.
Here’s a pattern that you could use with any size yarn/needles:
Cast on stitches in a multiple of 10.
Row 1: Knit 10, Purl 10 across the row.
Row 2: Knit the Knits and Purl the Purls
Do this for 12 rows total. Then reverse:
Row 13: Purl 10, Knit 10
Row 14: Knit the Knits and Purl the Purls
Continue with this for 12 rows total. Continue alternating the blocks until the afghan is the length you want.
Bind off in pattern.

WEBS indeed has them from Knitter’s Pride and maybe other sources too.
Thanks. I now am wondering how anyone can knit with them. I got my ruler out and it looks as if they’re about a 10" diameter. For me they’d be a novelty item. I guess I’ll pass.
Hi!!
Grumpygramma, I got my circs from:

Ed Jenkins hand makes his needles and other tools. They are very smooth and are easier to work with than they look!!!

This is the pattern I decided to do since I can incorporate several colors into it
That’s a nice one. What colors, do you know yet?
yes different shades of Greens and yellow. I am using Vanna White’s line of Yarn
