I saw this scarf in the Dillard’s girls department, and I should have bought it. I’d really like to know how to stitch this pattern. I’ve looked all over the internet in search of something similar, but found nothing. So I thought I would ask the experts here. Anyone know what technique is used in this scarf? The photos show each side of the scarf and then we stretched the stitches out to better see the pattern.
I’m not exactly what that stitch is…could be crocheted or possibly slip stitched. Looks like I-cords for the fringe. It was most likely knit on a machine so who knows.
There are a few vertical knit scarves that might work for you. It’s really just a matter of casting on enough for length then knit as wide as you want.
I’m wondering if it might be plaited (or braided), with each strand of fringing being a 3-strand plait and the body of the scarf being done in either 4 or 5-strand plaits to link the fringing into one continuous piece.
