I am in desperate need of your help in order to understand the instructions of a knitting pattern for a scarf I am currently working on. No matter how many times I ready, it just doesn’t make sense to me…there has to be something I don’t understand
My issue is that by following these steps, I end up having one more stitch on my right side complementary color needle (when I should be decreasing the number of stitches by the end of this section).
So if anyone understands it differently, please let me know - hearing your thoughts on the matter would be a great help.

What is the name of the scarf and designer?
You should end with one stitch in the CC after row 8. On row 9, ssk that stitch together with a body (or MC?) stitch.
You’ll have one stitch in CC on the RH needle.
Is that what you have? Can you post a photo of your knitting?

Ma difficulté est à la deuxième section, après avoir monté les mailles whit the cable method.
Apres la série des 4 rangs, j obtiens une maille de plus en CC alors que le but est de diminuer la sectio. Il y a 1 diminution en bordure sur les 4 rangs mais on en récupère 2 sur les K2TOG pour la liaison entre CC et MC
Je ne sais pas si vous le comprenez mais voilà ma difficulté

It’s the first section, the 4 row section that is the problem if I’m understanding it correctly. The stitch count should remain at 72sts CC through rows 1-3. On row 4 there is a k2tog, k1 to end the row. That will decrease one stitch every time you repeat row 4.
Row 4 k2tog, k to last 3sts, k2tog, k1
The decreases at the beginning of rows 2 & 4 are joining the border to the scarf.
When you slip the sts at the end of rows 1 and 3 are you slipping a body stitch and a border (CC) stitch?
Oui c est bien la première section, la section de 4 rangs qui pose problème
Si je lis les explications du rang 1 et 3 je vais jusqu’à la dernière mailles en CC et ensuite je glisse 2 mailles en MC . Au rang 2 et 4 je tricote les 2 mailles MC ensemble ce qui me crée une maille supplémentaire en CC.
A votre avis dois je glisser ensemble 1 maille CC et 1 MC pour ne pas créer une maille supplémentaire CC?
Je deviens folle avec ce patron

Yes that’s it exactly. For row 1 you start with 3sts in CC. K2 then slip the next 2sts (one CC and one MC). On the next row those 2 slip sts (one MC, one CC) are knit together. It’s only on row 4 when you knit to the last 3sts that you actually work a decrease in the CC sts.
Try this and if it still isn’t working, come back and ask. It’s so worth the effort for this lovely shawl.
Oui je vais tenter comme ça et je reviens vers vous pour vous dire. Je voulais tout défaire tellement je suis suis agacée de recommencer cette section mais je n aime pas baisser les bras.
