I have a pattern that reads.
K1. *K2tog. (yfwd) twice. Sl1. K1. psso. Rep from * to last st. K1 (I’m confused about the yarn forward twice)
Also there is a row that reads:
P1. *P1. K1. P2. Rep from * to last st. P1 (why doesn’t it just say to purl 3 knit 1?)
Any help would be appreciated

On the first row, for the yfwd twice, bring your yarn forward as you would for a regular yarn over, then wrap it again around the right needle and bring it to the front again.
As for the second, some patterns are just like that. Maybe the designer thought it would be easier to follow the pattern that way. ???
