Hi guys
I doing a pattern at the moment that’s shaping around the neck and it say K15 and turn
Is that the same as k15 and wrap and turn??
My pattern then asks me to decrease on the next 3 rows of those 15 stitches.
When you turn and purl back is that considered the first decrease row?
so Id be…
K15, turn
P2tog, purl to end
K to last two , k2tog
P2tog, purl to end?
Thanks for your help in advance
Turn is what you usually do at the end of a row when knitting flat (back and forth). Wrap & turn is a way of making short rows the involves a circling the next stitch with yarn before turning to the other side of the knitting.
Yes, decreasing at the neck edge on the next 3 rows is just as you’ve written. You might consider leaving one stitch at the neck edge to make a nicer edge or for picking up sts if there is a collar. To do that p1, p2tog, purl to end or knit to the last 3sts, k2tog, k1.
Thank you!
I got that garment finished. My first jumper that required sewing.
Thought it was a bit strange to say just turn int he middle of a row so I did a W&T may not have been correct but it was grand!
A success! As long as you like the look, that’s the perfect solution. We’d love to see a photo if you’d like to post one.
