Turkish Knitting

I could make a multicolor turkish blanket if I knew how. I mean I can do it but what makes turkish knitting different from intarsia or fair isle? Is it a type of fair isle? is it a type of intarsia?

Can’t say I’m an expert, but all I’ve found so far is this:
Some people call Continental knitting the Turkish method
There is a Turkish cast on
There is a Turkish stitch, quite lacy and pretty that has several variants

Google probably has umpteen hundreds of pages of variations on these themes.

I mean turkish multicolor knitting. Here is an example: http://knittingfool.com/StitchIndex/StitchDetail.aspx?StitchID=1833

I think the reference is to the ethnic style of the fair isle, like calling some fair isle patterns Scandinavian. Many fair isle patterns are cultural.

Yes, this looks like fair islewith the strands pulled just a bit too tightly across the back, causing the slight pucker.

I’ve come across references that refer to Tunisian crochet as Turkish knitting.

So you think I should knit it like I would other fair isle?

Yes, it looks that way from the chart. You can give a swatch a try. The worst thing that could happen is that you don’t like how it turned out, rip it out the swatch, and use the yarn for something else.
