Tunic is finally done

Almost 2 year waiting WIP is finished. Trying to fix neck opening many times sweater become tunic lol.
After stroke in October '23 I did 5 needlepoint because anxiety keeps me away of this sweater and stubbornly didn’t want to start another project untill this one is done.
Couldn’t even wait to block it before took pics

Such a beautiful detail with that stunning stitch work, gorgeous, and well worth the extra effort to complete it.
Is there a pattern for this or did you design it yourself?
Lovely shoulders too, I just spotted them, what stitch is that at the shoulder?

I love to see UFOs turned into gorgeous sweaters. You did a great job on this one. Well done!

Thank you, I just start knitting and insert pattern of swirls found on Pinterest free. Details did in purl stitches only on right side and sleeves. Had a problem with neck opening ripped few times and finally did short rows on front finishing wit rib 1/1. Not what I planned but it will do. Today will be sent to Switzerland

Thank you so much. Planed to be unique, hope she will like it.

Purl stitches only, I thought it was made from slipped stitches, I couldn’t see the purls when I zoomed in.
So the shoulders are ribbed, I like that, I think I need to remember this and make similar shoulders. Thanks for the info and inspiration!

According to advise found here started ribbed row on shoulder by slipping knit stitch and purl second one.
Few short rows at front than 5 ribbed rows all across made neck opening kinda boat neck. I already was frustrated, yarn is bamboo with cotton and slippery very soft and nothing I tried looks ok. That will teach me next time to use pattern but I’m bad of following written instructions just graph :see_no_evil:

It’s all good experience. I often find myself finishing a pattern thinking “Well, I’ll know better next time.” It’s like remodeling a room.
Your sweater will be admired here and abroad. It’s a lovely gift.

Beautiful!!!

Thank you
