Tubular cast on for socks

Hi
I just discovered the tubular cast on and haven’t yet tried it (too late for a new concept), but I was wondering if this can be done for socks. My cuff is usually to tight and then is kind of loopy. would love to be able to us a stretchier cast on.

Thanks

This is great for socks. It’s one of the best for ribbing, not only very stretchy (necessary for ribbing) but also looks great, very professional. An employee at my LYS said it looked like machine knitting. The caston for 1x1 rib can be done in a much faster way: search ‘fluffbuff’s Italian tubular caston’, easier than the waste wool way where you knit extra rows. Good photos and videos. Check out the tubular castoff for ribbing too, looks just as good for toe-up socks.
For the caston I still usually go up in needle size 1 or .5 mm.

 is there an online link to a video :whoosh:

That looks interesting but I don’t quite understand the bit about pulling out part.
