Trying to convert to GSRows with increases

Trailing Daisy Socks Free on Ravelry. I would like to convert the w&t shadow wraps to German short rows but cannot figure out how to do this with the required increases! I have 19 st in my sole gusset and am supposed to end up with 31 stitches when finished the heel turn. Pls see below:

Starting at the BOR work the heel turn as follows:

row 1 (RS): K19 (k21, k23), w&t. row 2 (WS): P19 (p21, p23), w&t.

row 3 (RS): K17 (k19, k21), LL1, k1, work a RS shadow wrap, turn. row 4 (WS): P17 (p19, p21), LL1 purlwise, p1, work a WS shadow wrap, turn.

row 5 (RS): Knit until 3 sts remain before the previous RS shadow wrap, LL1, k1, work a RS shadow wrap, turn. row 6 (WS): Purl until 3 sts remain before the previous WS shadow wrap, LL1 purlwise, p1, work a WS shadow wrap, turn.

Repeat rows 5 and 6 until there are 6 (7, 8) shadow wrap stitch pairs on each side of the heel turn, one stitch between each shadow wrap stitch pair and you have just finished row 6. In all three sizes there are 9 single sts between the last RS and WS shadow wrap stitch pairs. There are now 31 (35, 39) sts in total in the heel turn, of which 12 (14, 16) are shadow wrap stitch pairs.

Beautiful sock stitch pattern.

Roxanne Richardson has a helpful video on substituting short rows. Her advice when substituting GSR for W&T (or shadow wraps or yo short rows) in shorter length short rows is to follow the pattern numbers but count the double stitch as stitch one. The method toward the end of the video (~5:00min) for charting out the short rows is helpful and spares your yarn from overworking.
For the first 2 rows however, add one more stitch to the number given and substitute a GSR.
For the increases, they occur after the given number of sts but before the turn so they won’t be affected in the current row and will fall outside of the “3sts remain before the previous RS shadow wrap.”
It’ll help to mark the shadow wrap stitch in counting for the next turns. Then there’s no guessing about the turn.

Sorry, I’m still totally lost. I get rows 1 and 2. Do I also add one more stitch to rows 3 and 4? Am I doing a shadow wrap in addition to the GSR? In addition to struggling with the instructions, I’m also using dark navy sock yarn that is hard to see even with good lighting. I need to actually do something to figure it out. I’ll get some larger needles and heavier yarn to help me figure this out. No giving up now, I’m doing taat, and have both socks at the heel steps.

Excellent way to knit socks.
You can convert the shadow wraps to GSR if that’s what you want to do. There’s no need to work both GSR and shadow wraps. GSR will work or shadow wraps will work but not both together.
Yes, add one more stitch to rows 3 and 4. W&T works on the stitch following x number of sts given in a pattern while GSR works on the last stitch of the x number. So to substitute GSR for W&T or shadow wraps, add one more stitch to rows 3 and 4.
Stepping back and working this out on heavier yarn in a lighter color is a good idea. If charting it out isn’t for you then this is the best way to go.
