Travelling Knitters

Just a word of caution about taking a copy of the rules with you. If the TSA agent says, “You can’t have knitting needles” POLITELY tell him that you read on the TSA website that you could and show him the copy POLITELY! If he still insists you can’t, give them up and move on. If you try to argue your point you will go through a much more thorough screen process. My dad tried to argue something through once and he ended up having a strip search and this was within the past year. Most TSA stations have a mail kiosk and you can always mail your knitting needles back home.

thank you all for the good ideas! i am supposed to be travelling for a 15 1/2 hour trip in the summer and a 2 hr trip next mo. thanks again!

I figured I’d quickly let you all know that I flew to and from Costa Rica from Calgary (Alberta, Canada) with no problems, I got to be a happy knitter both ways. I even had flight attendants ask what I was making and stuff. Hooray!
I also have a long trip coming up in the summer, so I’ll be looking forward to the knitting time.
