Toy cat

here kitty kitty kitty … does anyone know of a toy cat pattern that’s easy enough that a simpleton like myself could do ? thanks a bunch

you want one that actually looks like a cat or a toy for a cat? i know there are mouse patterns around here somewhere…hafta think about where i have seen them though…

it may be the book i have at home…hmmmm

no i’m looking for like a stuffed animal cat… i kept finding little mice … so i did a couple of them for fun … but kinda like a teddy bear but a cat lol does that make any sense :roflhard:

yup…makes perfect sense…that one i haven’t seen…sorry…

i did see a dinosaur somewhere though…lol

There’s a cat pattern in The World Of Knitted Toys, but it’s considered a “challenging” pattern.

There’s a cat pattern in a little book by Bernat (which also features a bunny, a dog, and the pig I’m working on) but I think it would be pretty challenging for a beginning knitter. I’ll keep an eye out, though.

I found this one. It’s not free, but it’s only $2.50 and he’ll send it to you via email.

And here’s one that is less shaped and might be eaiser for a beginner.

I ran across this book somewhere, and there is a cute stuffed cat pillow @ the bottom of the table of contents. I think it’s adorable, but I’m not sure it’s what you’re looking for.

Do you crochet? Coats & Clark have a free crocheted kitten pattern on a tear-off sheet. It might also be on their website.

Just found this. Pretty cute!

THAT is one SCARY Stephen King-like Kitty!

Oh come on! It’s not that bad. Or perhaps it’s because I’m used to looking at the kitty my son has had since he was a year old. Now that’s scary. I’ll have to post a picture sometime.

ooooooooh no i agree with kelly i am afraid…it looks like the cat from the movie Pet Semetary…AFTER coming back…eeeeK!

Jouf posted this in another thread, and i think some of them might make good kitty balls.

WOW< Jouf, who knew you’re post would be so popular!

I’m going to try these for my two sister-in-laws who are each going to give me their cat once I move… they’ll be a sort of replacement

Looks simple enough and I think the size will depend a lot on what material you use. I don’t know how well they will hold up when actually used as a cat toy; I mean you could easily stuff them with catnip (is that the word?) but since you’re sewing the parts together, they might not withstand the stress of being chewed, puled and clawed at.

but if it’s just a toy for a child or something that you’re looking for, this might be something for you

But true.

Here’s a link to the Fortune Cat by JustJussi - I liked this as it reminded me of my childhood.

I’ve got a pattern for a cat, but the finished cat is only 9cm.
It’s supposed ti sit on a cushion.

It’s a Wendy pattern from the ‘Jean Greenhowe’s Knitted Animals’

If your interested pm your email address and I’ll scan and email you the pattern

Did anyone notice that the original post and replies were made in 2005? She may have found what she’s looking for now 2yrs later.
