I don’t know for sure, but it’s darn cute! It looks like a cockapoo to me, but I could be wrong! I had an “apricot cockapoo” when I was growing up, and that’s exactly what he looked like!
What a cute pup! I agree Ronda, it does look like a cockapoo to me too, but I’m no specialist!
i vote for POODLE!!! :roflhard:
we had one while i was growing up, and now i’ve had my own for 7 years. in fact, he’s asleep right now and i’m listening to him breathe. :teehee: my grandparents also had a couple before we got our first. i just love them. one of the best breeds ever!!!
I agree…poodle!
Or an absolutely scrump-tili-icious mutt!
Oooh that face!
:cheering: Another vote for poodle. My dog, Ginger, looked just like that as a pup. Same color too. But as she has gotten older her coat has lightened up ALOT–I tell her she has gray hair. She is not amused. :nails:
:teehee:
to be just a little more specific, that looks like a TOY poodle. my baby’s a toy. i got him when he was exactly 8 weeks old, and i could hold him in a hand and a half. cutest thing in the world!
I’m thinking Poodle or possibly Poodle/something cross. It is precious!! And, you gotta love that Poodles don’t shed!

So sorry to hear of your loss. Yes. I think you “need” one, too! Be sure to check your local shelter first. Per the Humane Society, 25% of all the animals at shelters are purebreds.
I am sure you are all right on the poodle thought, but what I first thought was "ooooo look at the little itty bitty airdale!"
Don’t airdales have cute little springy hair like that?
I have a mini poodle!!! What kind do you have? My baby is 3 years old. She weighs 8-1/2 pounds. She’s precious! I agree - a very good breed!
I think airedales have a short wirehaired coat. They are also usually black and tan.
Looks like a Yorkiepoo to me. It’s awfully cute, but Yorkies are still cuter! Can you tell…I’m a true yorkie fan.
.
auburn teacup poodle… we had one
That Is So CUTE!!!
It’s a definite Apricot Poodle miniature or teacup.
Looks just like one my mom had. Here she is with him when she got him.
I highly recommend getting mixes though, all the genetic junk gets bred out generally. Her apricot poodle was a little porker because he had some thyroid condition, skin issues, etc. Just my 2 cents.

Please check Petfinder.com first. There are SO many needing homes, and 25% or more listed there are PUREBRED!!! (if you really want a purebred). From there, you can search by zip code and purebreed rescues will come up, if you like to go that route.
I work with animal rescues…I haven’t even seen the worst of the worst because I can’t stomach it, but I help as much as I can with free web design, occasional fostering and transporting of dogs.
I personally love getting a dog which is full grown, I know their personality fits our lifestyle, which is already potty-trained, no longer chews on table legs or expensive pumps!!! etc. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO over the puppy stage!!!
HOWEVER…If you do go to a breeder, please be sure not to get from a puppymill. It’s AWFUL what those dogs are put through, and the resulting puppies are not healthy ones - resulting in high vet bills and headaches for the owners of puppymill-bred dogs.
DON’T get from a paper, streetcorner, pet store, etc. Those are either puppymill or “backyard breeder” dogs. A reputable breeder won’t sell their dogs those ways. Look for a breeder listed with the AKC only. Other “registers” such as CKC, etc. allow unlimited # of litters per breeder…i.e. PUPPYMILLS!!! The AKC (last I heard) still keeps tabs on the number of registered litters per breeder, etc. I believe anything over 7 litters with AKC is flagged as a possible puppymill.
An example (KH post) from one rescue I work with. This little yorkie (pic below) was going to be put to sleep because one ear was smaller than the other :noway:. The vet even suspected the puppymill, (one of the worst in the area), even tried unsuccessfully cropping the ear themselves - which is what led to the small ear! And for this they were going to euthanize him!!! Would it REALLY be too much trouble to find him a home??? The scum! NOT everyone wants a show quality dog! IN fact, I dare say, MOST people don’t care about that!
Luckily we (a Lhasa Rescue) got him and he got a great and loving home.
OK, OK…I apologize for the rant…my bad! I’m a tad passionate about this, in case you can’t tell.
The best thing we can ALLLLLLLLLLLL do, is spay and neuter all our dogs and cats. Unless you have a high quality show dog to breed, please don’t add to the overpopulation.
