I cannot believe it but I just called in sick for work tomorrow. I have not had a sick day in almost 20 years. It started over the weekend with a UTI and apparently has gone into a kidney infection.
I’ve been laying in bed shivering and sweating with a temp of 103 since I got home this afternoon. I was sick last night but felt better this morning so went to work, as the day progressed I felt worse and worse. Luckily I was able to reschedule patients and find someone to cover me tomorrow.
BUT THE WORST PART IS I can’t even bare the thought of knitting. It’s been over 24 hours since I picked up my needles and I am going through major withdrawal
Oh, kidney infections are the worst. Last time I had one, I was on heavy duty antibiotics and it still seemed to take forever to completely clear up. Feel better
Oh, dear Ginny, so sorry you’re ill and you definitely deserve several “Poor Babys”! Hope you’ll feel better soon and lots of and to you. Had kidney infections as a child and they are not fun…make you dizzy and just generally yucky!
Thanks everyone. After a night of cold sweats and shaking chills (and a fever that topped at 104.4) I am exhausted but feeling better. Antibiotics are a wonderful thing.
Actually picked up the knitting needles a bit ago and started my sleeves for SYLVI. I was trying to sleep but my replacement at work has called me every hour with questions… I appreciate someone covering but rest is not an option with the phone ringing every 60 minutes.
Glad you are feeling better. I’ve had those sick days where you don’t want to knit, read or watch TV. When those happen, work gets one phone call and then I turn the ringer off - leave a message and maybe I’ll call you back.
Oh, man! I don’t have a emotocon/smilie thingy big enough to express the sympathy I have for you right now. I used to have HORRIBLE bladder and UTI infections, nearly continuously. So, when I say, “I feel your pain,” I mean it!
I am so sorry. I hope you are out of pain and on the mend.
And, TURN OFF THAT PHONE! They can call someone else! LOL!
