Toe up sock questions

Ok I want to do another one of Silver’s tutorials. The 2 toe up socks on one circular needle. I’ve done 1 toe up sock on 2 circular needles and the double pointed needle tutorials she’s written (fabulous btw).

I have her tutorial all printed out. I want to use a sock pattern that I have but it’s written from the top down. How do I read this so I can do it from the bottom up? Also it has a chart, do I start at the top of the chart instead?

LOL. Thanks for the help. I’m such a visual person and this is hard for me to wrap my mind around it all!

the Tsock Tsarina (of the Flock Socks club) has a ‘pair’ of socks that are knit 1 toe up, 1 cuff down.

the pattern is not PERFECTLY identical but… its close enough (as i recall she changed some of the decrease–(or was it the increases in the pattern directions)

so the answer is a Qualifed YES.

best bet? knit a swatch (don’t you need a lacy face cloth?
and see how the pattern looks upside down!

if it looks good, go for it.

if not, think about what is wrong and perhaps change the style of increases/decreases.

or chose another pattern (that is similar but "upside down’ compared to the first!

(and lets be honest here–do you know someone with a foot fetish?

if the answer is no, most people are going to be viewing your socks from 5 or more feet away… how much detail are they going to notice!?)

LOL thank you for your response. You crack me up!
