I am making gloves and am stuck on the thumb. I’ve shaped thumb up to now by doing
k18, m1, k1,m1,k20
purl
k18,m1,k3,m1,k20
purl
etc up to:
k18,m1,k11,m1,k20
purl
then it says:
k31, cast on 1st, turn
p14, cast on 1st, turn
then work on those 15 stitches
confused about how to do the cast on, and if the cast on in the 2nd last row is used in the p14
YEs to the last question. To cast on 1 st, just knit into the first st, but leave it on the needle land put the new one on the needle too. Then purl that and 13 more, turn and cast on 1 more for 15 sts.
Hi i’m Thuja a new member.
I’m also knitting gloves and have a problem with the thumb. In my instrucktions it says to slant a stich to the right before M1R, knitt a stich and slant a stich to the right before M1L.
Can anyone please tell me how to slant the stiches and why they do that? I’m not sure if i’m suppose to knitt them or not.
Thanks for youre support
Thuja
The m1R/m1L are the way the incs slant, they’re just explaining it to you.
