I need help understanding how to make the ‘gore’ (or gusset, i see some patterns calling it that…) for the LEFT hand…have the step by step instructions for the RIGHT hand, then for the LEFT, it just reads: “begin GORE at END OF ROUND…” so my question is:

is the 1st stitch – starting the gore – on the R hand gore, the LAST stitch at the end of the round for the LEFT hand? and the
2nd stitch on the R hand is the 2nd to LAST stitch at the end of the round for the LEFT stitch…I’ve been doing it this way, on my 4th time now!!! – and it just doesn’t look right…

Hmm, it’s hard to know first/last without knowing the pattern and where you started the round.

However, when I make mittens, I just make a point to put the gusset on the correct side of the mitten. For the right mitten, I start after I’ve made the top of the hand, for the left mitten, I start after I’ve made the palm.
