Combining my love of electric mixers (alas I don’t have one, but who doesn’t remember being young and wanting so badly to use the mixer instead of mom, usually resulting in new wall paper patterning) and textiles!
I suppose you could do it with an electric drill, perhaps using/making a dowl or jurry rigging a drill bit with a cylinder of wood to make the winder small enough in diameter to make a center pull ball.
Now I want a mixer, or a drill, a hard ware/wood shop, and a few hours to kill unwinding knots.

Good idea! Remember, they all say to try a few…so make a few short length ones first. After a few tries you might not have knots!
