There's a hole in the armpit, dear Liza dear Liza

I’m working on this top down raglan sleeve baby sweater. I’ve noticed holed in the armpits, and I just whipstitched them shut, and it looks fine. Is this a normal occurance in this type of sweater? Note that this is my first sweater, so I don’t have any experience with this type a thing. :knitting:

It can be normal, most people pick up an extra stitch or two, or just use the tail to close it up as you did. It’s not noticeable when the sweater’s being worn.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! :cheering:

. . . . . just sew it dear Rissa, dear Rissa, dear Rissa, just sew it dear Rissa, dear Rissa, my dear!

:roflhard::roflhard::roflhard: hehehe too funny Ingrid!

If the extras are on the sleeve part, I decrease them the next round. If they’re on the body, I just knit the extra ones. It shouldn’t throw the pattern off that much. Of course, I’m usually not following a pattern anyway…
