Actually it’s an egg cosy, following a Melanie Falick pattern from the library. I thought it’d be a nice introduction to actually doing more than just squares. So far I knitted the front and back, and sleeves. I’m doing the neck later and sewing it up probably tomorrow morning. Then I can go to playgroup tomorrow afternoon and say (truthfully) “I knitted a jumper this week”!!

Can you post a photo? It sounds really cute.

I didn’t know how exactly to sew it up, so in places I think it’s not as neat as it could be!
I guess I’ll put it down to ignorance, and do better next time…

cute, the eggs will stay toasty and the breakfast table is more colorful, really. I think you need to make more in different colors and brighten up the morning!
How cute! Now your egg can wear a pretty sweater, too! :teehee:
Very cute! I’ve never heard of an egg cozy before … neat idea!
Cute! You could use it for a heating pad, with a hot egg in it. LOL That tiny neck made me think of a hot water bottle, with sleeves.
You will have the best dressed egg in town!
I gave it to my friend. She said she had a new phone and already had 2 issues with it:
a) she can never find it in her bag
b) she worried about scratching the display.
Problems, solved!
Started another one yesterday…
I made another red one, and then also managed to knit a striped version with glaring bright green and red as before, although the sleeves were too long really and too tight for me to do the turned-back cuff as before.
Am now struggling with instructions for a mini knitted Christmas stocking - the heel part especially. The fairisle tree pattern has so far been the easiest, even more so when I translated wordy instructions to a graph chart.

ok, having watched the video on http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/advanced-techniques a couple of times I think I get it…
Hmmm, that’s a new one! An egg cozy! So darlin’!
Here are some egg cozy HATS! On Etsy.
Boy, that really IS the tiniest jumper ever! It’s great!
