The right side of garter stitch

I am knitting a blanket and it says to knit on the right side & then further down the instructions it says to knit on the wrong side. I am really confused because both sides look the same. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Shelleen

Both sides are the same. I think they just want you to make sure you knit on both sides rather than knit on one side and purl on the other the way you would for stockinette.

If they’re mentioning the wrong side because you’re meant to start a particular instruction on the wrong side, I’d just go by where the tail from your cast on is. It depends on how you cast on, but when I use the long tail caston, the tail is always hanging down from the first stitch on my right side rows. That’s the only way I know of that you can tell right side from wrong side on garter stitch.

Thank you both for the explanation, I think I understand the instructions.

Thanks,
