The LuncheoNETTE

I got it at my local yarn shop. It is prism yarns says on the page 3508 long tailed wrap. It calls for 1/2 skien of wild and 4 skeins of kid mohair OR 5 kid slique. I saw one on display at my local yarn shop and it was beautiful, however hers was very large stitches and mine came out slightly smaller in size. I used cheap walmart acrylic mohair just to see if I could do it and it actually took just a bit over 2 skeins and i knit two strands together. This was so easy and I did it in 2 evenings so since I like it I want to find a nice deal on kid slique or save cause at 20 dollars a hank I am not sure I would make this for just anyone. It is for sure one I will do again in the nice stuff.

Oh it says the pattern was designed by Carolyn Steele

Ok- first of all, Kelly, I’m sorry to say that although my husband’s cousin is NOT married, HER name is Jeanette!!

Annette- Unfortunately, the shop isn’t in West Chester- :frowning: It is in upstate PA, about 3 hours away from me. It is where I got my first yarn and knitting needles!!
I live about 2 miles from QVC- my mom works there, packing jewelry. We went on a studio tour last year- pretty cool, even for someone who doesn’t shop there.

Im married, too, but for a yarn store…I might consider playing for the other team! :roflhard:

Adds new meaning to the expression ‘yarn ho.’ :rofling:

I just read all the posts, so Im sure I’ll forget half the things I want to say (that and the translating of my thoughts, of course).

Anette: My oldest sister, is just your age. (Im 17 years younger). She lives in Boston and she introduce to my familly the art of quilting. Yours are absolutely goergeous, undescribable beautiful.

I quilt since I was 15. But I must say I quilt by petition, I never do it for my self. Your work inspire me. I will start a quiltingo project this week and I wont sell it.

I too have a bad relationship with my mom. I do talk to her regularly, but never about personal topics. Is the formula that keeps our relationship out of the limits of danger.

Don’t have kids either. But I never want to. Instead I have 2 lovable dogs, wich I consider daughters.

See? I can´t remember anything else allready…

Aw Isamar I love your pic. Thanks for the kind words. I was stagnant cause I was anal about every stitch, now i just wing it and just go to town and do what I want to do and I am finally having fun.

Kelly and Ingrid, I can not tell you how badly I needed that laugh. I also wish I had read Isamars words to remember not to get personal before talking to my mom tonight. I came here with tears rolling down my face and saw Kellies post and cracked up , god bless you Kellie.

AWWW…

 HUGS, Annette!

Okay, Margie! Maybe your cousin’s shop is too far from you, but it might be pretty close to me. It depends on your designation of “upstate” PA. I’m only about 15 miles from the state line (on the NY side) and the idea that there is a quilt/yarn store yet to be discovered out there in the wilds is too much to bear! Where, where, where?

Oooooohhhhhh, I so hope it is close to you!! It is in a town called Tunkhannock, Pa- the shop is called “Endless Mountain Quiltworks”.

:happydance:

No web site? :frowning:

oops, sorry!!

www.emquiltworks.com

however…she doesn’t have yarn on the website. just quilting…

 Still a good two hours from me, but it would be a pretty easy drive for one of those “somedays” that never come. I haven’t even made it up to Rochester in about three months. DD is having Old Navy withdrawal.

I do some really dumb things. I think it comes from being childless and single so long that I kinda just fly by the seat of my pants lifestyle. I been working on eatting habits. Not dieting per say (avoiding that word) but making lifestyle changes. So today was late when we got home from therapy and hadnt had lunch. So at 3:30 I thought I will go ahead and make dinner, we’ll eat earlier, it will be healthier and whatever bull I could tell myself. So I made chicken breast and Sauted mushrooms and tomatoe slices. Was yummy , felt good. So was going to have french onion if we got hungry later. We didnt. It is now 11:12 and I was ravenous , so I ate a damn bologna sandwich. Where is my logic? Duh…
And I can hear someone opening and closing the fridge , so I am not the only one hungry

:shifty: ooh…yeah. That was me. See, the thing is…DH stopped at this new ice cream shop on the way home from work. They just opened up in our town, and we want to support the local economy. Plus, they have really UNUSUAL flavors…he brought toasted coconut (not unusual), sweet corn (yum!) and sweet potato (DOUBLE YUM!). Also, some guanabana italian ice to remind me of Costa Rica. How could I refuse such a gift?? :hiding:

Owee, I am not an ice cream person , but I love trying new things and they sound pretty interesting. I would not have been able to resist myself.

Not much sleep tonight, earache ughh!

yuck, earaches aren’t fun- :frowning: hope yours is better…

My DH is a nighttime snacker- it is a hard habit to break. A bologna sandwich isn’t that bad, though- at least you didn’t eat a pint of hagen daaz or something like that!!

You ya feelin this mornin, Nette?

Yep better. My companion is feeling guilty, all week he has had appts and he runs me with ragged with ice, putting on ted hoses, etc etc, so he knows I am looking for something special to finish off one of my quilts and he offered after his blood test maybe we could stop at hancocks or joannes so I can get some fabric. I ain’t no dummy!! lol I think the local sewing center for the really good stuff is in order.

Well I went to three stores and got some nice fabric. I feel better already. Everything from fat quarters to 3 yard pieces, I should be able to continue on happily.

I did lose 2 skeins of Lambs pride and my clog pattern. How I havent any clue. Maybe it is subconciously a message to stop the clog torture? Ya think?

Watching Winn Dixie tonight for a movie, it is part of my stragedy. My Dog Skip (one of my favs) helped a lot. I been begging for a dog and one dog I was given the go ahead on because it ws so badly abused and injured was taken before I got a chance to get her. So I been leaving animal planet on tv and while he reads his newspaper he has been seeing stories of abused animals being rescued, amazing animal tricks etc. I think it is working. He asked me today if all dogs listen and are so attentive as the ones he has been seeing on tv? Sure I say with love and a good home and plenty of attention and patience to train. So a pic of a beagle was in a magazine and he raved how cute he was. I was personally looking for a german shorthair myself, but I am not that picky as long as it will accept my cats. This man never had a pet in his life and he loves the cats. Sp I spend a lot of time on petfinders, doing just that, trying to find a pet that would fit in our home. We prefer an older dog than a pup and one that is ok with cats. Keeping my fingers crossed.
