Woo hoo! :happydance: :cheering: :happydance:
Awesome stuff everyone! :cheering: :happydance: :cheering:
Seeing all these packages is making me more and more anxious to get mine!!
Great stuff everyone!!! :cheering:
I normally am a woman of few words
(my husband would say otherwise).
But this needed an extended post.
Grab a cup of tea, coffee or the nearest alcholic beverage
Needless to say Monday was not a good day for me, My job includes getting yelled at on a regular basis by upset people. Iam tied to a chair for almost 9 hours. (blah blah blah blah).
I decided I would call home on my lunch break to see how things were, when this really happy voice squeals. (and all I caught the first time around is blah blah blah, package, blah blah). After much coaxing it turned into, OMG mom we got this huge package with a card on the front and can I open it NOW. Needless to say I was like…ummmm NO, not until I get there.
The rest of the afternoon dragged on forever.
When I got home I was barely in the door, and my daugher was dying to tear the brown paper open.
First there was the sweetest kitty cat card with a hint in regards to who my partner was.
Then inside were 2 huge shoeboxes. I let Allie have dibs at hers first. Now if you ask my husband Iam not a real emotional person, well I was crying like a baby by the time we were done. I didn’t realize how caring people can be that I have never met.
Allies package contained a book (kids knitting) you must be a mind reader cause we just had this book from the library and I had it on a list of birthday/xmas ideas.
A pair of bamboo crystal palace needles (I don’t even have any bamboo needles
She was kind enough to let me try them
2 balls of the softest Kiddo yarn from Crystal palace.
A cute kitty cat tape measure.
After I was done being stunned by allies goodies, I opened mine…WELL…
I was totally blown away.
I was never really one to spend much on myself, and like alot of fellow knitters never had a chance to touch some of the lucious yarns we drool at on the screen.
My dream came true.
My package had a skien of Kemps gorgeous sock yarn.
Sock yarn dyed by Cindy H that was so incredible.
And 2 skiens of Blue Sky Cotton. (I have cotton yarn but not anything like this).
She was kind enough to send me a before pic of my treats , and took the time to wind everything for me (cuz I suck at ball winding). No one wants to see what happened to my last adventure with a skein).
Also included were a cat tape measure for me (good thing cause I may have had to “borrow” Allies) beatiful stitch markers and last but not least my very own skein of malabrigo for my keys. If I can get allie to give it up and stop rubbing in on her face…lol
Allies yarn was on her needles in a matter of minutes (she googled it and found the cutest beginner cape pattern.
Needless to say SARA JAYNE you are wonderful.
Thank You Thank You Thank You
I never thought this swap could by so fun and feel so spoiled.
Now for the pics
sniff It’s all so beautiful!
I agree!!!

Everyones stuff is so pretty!
That UPS Man better hurry up darn it. :roflhard:
Yay!! All the yarn porn is making my head swim!! You lucky lucky ladies. I was totally bummed seeing all of the goodies, until…
My swap pal sent me an e-card and let me know she shipped today. I will be camping out beside my mail box for the next week and a half waiting for my swap pal’s stuff. I am so excited, I could just pee.
Lovely lovelies!!!
Mine is on its way…my swap pal could be nice and send me the tracking information…I won’t try to find out her identity or anything, I promise!
:—
Hmmmm… my secret swap partner just told me that HER job entails the SAME THING!

i don’t remember telling you that is what i do! oops! …though i am more inclined to remind them that until they sign a contract i am not listening to them yell at me!
Emerald, you were truly blessed with Sara Jayne as a swap pal!
That story is precious!
My swap pal gave me the tracking info and I still don’t know who she is!!
But its on its way!!! :cheering:
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
I hope today’s the day. She said “later in the week,” and this is later in the week!!! :happydance: :happydance:
Is it just me, or does anyone else NOT want this to end?! :shifty:
I got my goods, I got my goods!! :cheering: :cheering:
My pal sent me a skein of Alpaca…OMG, y’all, it’s like touching heaven. Well, actually, Oscar. Hence the clue of Oscar the Grouch…funny. The back of the label says that it came from Oscar. This stuff is seriously the softest yarn I’ve ever felt (and I’ve fondled LOTS of yarn.) It’s undyed - Oscar is just naturally this beutiful.
I also got a pack of chocolate soaps which smell amazing! One bar is already sitting by the bathroom sink.
Thank you, Jessica!!! This chocolate is FAR better for my marathon training than the real stick-to-your-thighs stuff.
Oh, there’s also a very sweet card, but I totally spazzed and forgot to put it in the pic.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I
LOVE
it all!!!
Yesterday I showed our friend’s 2-yr-old the yarn. She says, “Ooooh, it’s sooofffft” and proceeded to rub it on her face. When I told her that it was Oscar’s hair that she was rubbing on her face, she was totally grossed out and ran away.
Yes, I’m drooling over everyone’s yarn porn! This whole swap had to be the best idea ever. I’m so glad we did it. The best part is I made the greatest new friend!
yay! I’m glad you liked Oscar. I must say – I copped one last feel before I put him in the bag. Hopefully you can make something lovely with him… maybe a scarf? then you can snuggle him all the time.
While I was up on Whidbey Island Dad, Mike and Grover (I know… kinda funny his name is Grover when we’re discussing Oscar the alpaca) were all talking about how they could pull off raising Alpacas, and all the coin they could make off of it… granted - I’d have to learn how to spin, but I’d be willing if it meant I got to fondle more alpaca fleece.
As for the cholocate – you would absolutely DIE if you ever visited my step-mom’s shop – http://www.chocolateflowerfarm.com, they’ve got chocolate EVERYTHING.
mmmm chocolate and alpaca.
Laura! What a sweet post! I’m so glad that you and Allie loved your gifts - that makes me so happy! And spoiling was the point of this swap after all!! Just enjoy it in good health and happiness!
Laura–I have that kids knitting book and it’s awesome!
Do you live there? My Aunt and Unk live on Whidbey.
This is such fun! I love reading about everyone’s revelations!
Knitters never cease to amaze me. All in all, an astoundingly generous group of people!
I not only had great pleasure in surprising Amy (horve1) each month, but we now have begun what, I know to be a lifelong friendship, of which I am eternally grateful
Not only that, I was given such delightful things by my partner, Sara, who is also a new, lifelong friend
I think that the greatest gifts that we are receiving are these new, treasured friendships
