May I ask which collar you use? My dog (named Marley but after the singer, not the book/movie!) has developed a very scary habit of bolting out the front door if the children open it. We live on a fairly busy street, so the odds are if he doesn’t stop, he’ll be hurt. The biggest issue I’m having is that he sits nicely in his spot by the door when dh or I open it, but despite having the kids involved in training, if they open the door, out he goes! I think the real issue is that they forget to check for him, don’t see him laying behind the couch, and so aren’t aware of him when it happens. I’m pretty sure I could hide in the yard for training this - but the other issue is he currently HORRIBLE off-leash, failing to return when called until he has sniffed/chased/looked at everything that interests him (yes, we’re working on this too - he’s a perfect boy in the back yard, only “bad” when the reward is sniffing/running/chasing which seems to be better than treats/praise!)
TIA
Here’s what we use (and where we ordered it from).

You can buy additional batteries for the collars at your local pet store. We chose to buy the product online because it was cheaper. I think I might have gotten free shipping as well.
I had a dog that would crawl up the fence. She would do it when I would go walking in the pasture. It’s strange, because the other dog wouldn’t do it and he can jump very high. After I had her spayed she didn’t do it anymore and I felt sorry for her, because it obviously damaged her somehow. I knew it must hurt her or she would be climbing again. They both learned to climb on top of the dog house and jump over, so we had to move the dog house away from the fence.
Many unspayed/ unneutered dogs will roam. Spaying your girl likely decreased her initiative to go find a boyfriend.
We are having to institute the collar to keep our pup in the yard. She is the master at finding ways out and has lately decided that she may be able to dig her way out (she gets bored very quickly without her buddy) or jump so we ran the line along the fence and the collar keeps her about 18" from the fence. We use Innotek. We picked the one we wanted out at PetsMart - found it cheaper on line - printed the info out and then went back to PetsMart and asked them to match the price - which they did.
